What lcl services covers

When your shipment is an overflow from a multi-vendor consolidation, a single-vendor lot, or simply smaller in volume, our LCL service offers weekly, reliable coverage.

We support CFS-to-CFS and door-to-door LCL movement, including loading to multiple inland points with defined transit times.

Key capabilities

  • Weekly LCL sailings with defined transit times
  • CFS-to-CFS or door-to-door options
  • Multi-vendor consolidation support
  • Loading to multiple inland destination points

Best suited for

Smaller shipments and multi-vendor consolidation that do not justify a full container.

Typical situations

When lcl services is the right fit

Sub-container volumes

A few pallets or several cubic metres — too much for courier, not enough to justify a full container.

Multi-vendor buying

Cargo collected from several suppliers and consolidated into one movement rather than shipped separately.

Trial shipments

A first order into a new market, where committing to full-container volume would be premature.

How it works

How we handle lcl services

  1. 01

    Volume and pricing basis

We confirm chargeable volume or weight so the quote reflects what will actually be invoiced.

  2. 02

    Consolidation booking

Cargo is booked onto a weekly consolidation with a defined closing and sailing date.

  3. 03

    CFS receipt

Goods are received into the container freight station and checked against the packing list.

  4. 04

    Sailing and deconsolidation

The consolidated container sails and is broken down at destination CFS.

  5. 05

    Clearance and final delivery

Clearance and onward delivery, to CFS or to the door, complete the movement.

Before we can quote

What we need from you

You can send an enquiry without all of it, but each missing item usually costs a round trip before you have a usable rate.

  • Origin and destination CFS or door address
  • Volume in CBM and gross weight
  • Number, type and dimensions of packages
  • Cargo description and whether it is stackable

Pricing

What moves the cost

So a quote is not a black box. These are the factors that actually change the number on a lcl services shipment.

  • Chargeable volume or weight, whichever is greater
  • CFS handling charges at origin and destination
  • Consolidation frequency on the lane
  • Whether delivery is CFS-to-CFS or door-to-door

Questions

LCL Services questions

How small can a shipment be for LCL?

There is no strict minimum — LCL is designed for cargo that does not fill a full container, whether that is a single pallet or several cubic metres.

Is LCL slower than FCL?

LCL can involve slightly longer transit due to consolidation and deconsolidation at CFS facilities, but we plan realistic transit times as part of every quote.

Do you offer door-to-door LCL, or only port-to-port?

Both — we support CFS-to-CFS and full door-to-door LCL movement, including delivery to multiple inland points.

How is LCL pricing calculated?

LCL is typically priced by volume (CBM) or weight, whichever is greater. Share your approximate volume and weight on the rate enquiry form for an accurate quote.
