Our story

A freight company built one shipment at a time.

SAS Freight Forwarders Pvt. Ltd. started in freight forwarding in 2007 and has grown with the clients, agents and staff who stayed. What follows is the factual version — what we are registered to do, where we work from, and how the work is actually organised.

Operating since 2007

How we got here

Registered operator, independently networked.

In 2009 the company was registered under the Multimodal Transport Operator framework. That registration is what allows us to contract for a movement crossing more than one mode of transport under a single document, instead of handing you separate contracts for the sea, road and rail legs.

The same year we joined the WCA Family, a network of vetted independent freight forwarders. We are not the agent of a single global carrier, which is deliberate: routing gets chosen on the merits of your shipment rather than on whose network we belong to.

We are also recognised by Container Corporation of India Limited, which supports our coordination through CONCOR facilities including ICD Kathuwas.

Today

Seven Indian locations

Own teams across the main freight corridors, with in-house customs brokerage.

How we work

Fewer handovers, fewer surprises.

Most freight problems are not transport problems. They happen where responsibility changes hands. Our operating model is organised around reducing the number of those points.

Customs in-house Brokerage sits on the same desk as the booking, so a documentation query never becomes a two-company conversation.
Our own inland fleet Container trailers, trucks and pickup vans mean the inland leg is planned rather than sourced at the last minute.
Carrier-neutral routing No exclusive tie to one shipping line or airline, so we quote the option that fits your date and budget.
One contact per shipment The same team follows the movement through booking, clearance and delivery.

Where we operate

Seven Indian locations.

Positioned on the corridors our clients actually ship on — the Rajasthan and Delhi hinterland, the Mumbai and Nhava Sheva gateway, and the Gujarat ports.

Each office covers a specific corridor, and the team there deals directly with the ports and depots on it.

Our commitment

“We try harder, consistently.”

It is a motto, not a guarantee, and we would rather be judged on the unglamorous parts: answering when you call, telling you early when a sailing has slipped, and not quoting a transit time we cannot hold.

See what we handle, or read about our WCA Family membership and what it does and does not cover.

  • Reliability — consistent coordination at every stage, from booking to delivery
  • Transparency — clear routing, documentation and timelines, without unrealistic promises
  • Coordination — one point of contact holding freight, customs and inland transport together
  • Support — a customer care team you can reach for updates and queries

Work with a team that handles the whole movement.

Questions

About the company

When was SAS Freight Forwarders Pvt. Ltd. established?

The company began freight forwarding operations in 2007. In 2009 it was registered as a Multimodal Transport Operator and joined the WCA Family network of independent forwarders.

Where does SAS Freight operate from?

Our own teams work from Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai (Fort), Navi Mumbai, Mundra, Gandhidham and ICD Kathuwas. Movements outside India are coordinated through partner agents in the WCA Family network.

What does MTO registration actually mean for my shipment?

It allows us to contract for a movement crossing more than one mode of transport under a single document, rather than issuing separate contracts for the sea, air and inland legs. In practice it means one party stays accountable across the whole movement.

Does SAS Freight handle customs clearance itself?

Yes. Customs brokerage is handled by our own team rather than subcontracted, which keeps documentation, classification and query resolution on the same desk as the freight booking.
